Summer is Flying By

As the Watch Duty app on my phone incessantly buzzes with alerts and the temperatures continue to soar, it becomes increasingly difficult to ignore the looming specter of global warming. The reminders highlight the urgency of climate change, prompting me to advocate for sustainable practices. My environmental pieces aim to inspire hope and encourage collective action for a sustainable future.

Engaging with the theme of 'Hope in Action' through my work in progress art for the United Nations open call offers a glimmer of optimism amidst the prevailing concerns about climate change. It provides a platform to channel my concerns and aspirations into creative expressions that advocate for positive change. Through my environmental pieces, I aim to inspire hope, foster awareness, and encourage collective action towards a more sustainable future.

Working in AI involves making small changes that trigger a cascade of work, showcasing the rapid pace of developments. Each tweak sets off a chain reaction of exploration and refinement, driving progress and innovation. Introducing new elements into AI models leads to a flurry of activity, showcasing the system's adaptability. The cycle of modification, evaluation, and regeneration is essential for AI development. Fine-tuning AI models requires attention to detail and optimization to achieve accuracy and efficiency. Every adjustment impacts the model's performance, contributing to its evolution. AI work is an engaging journey where even minor changes drive continuous improvement and innovation, expanding the possibilities in artificial intelligence.

Over the last three years, I've explored various AI platforms to create a wide range of images. Layering is a key technique I use to add depth and complexity to my projects, weaving intricate narratives and visual experiences. My creative process focuses on transparency, hues, and texture. Transparency represents not only the openness and honesty in my work but also the transparent layers, while hues and texture help evoke emotions, set moods, and create harmonious compositions.

Layering, transparency, hues, and texture are fundamental elements in my digital art, guiding me in crafting visuals that deeply resonate with audiences and blend art and technology harmoniously.

By incorporating my collection of textural reference photographs and graffiti from various corners of the globe, I infuse a unique essence into every artwork I create. These visual elements, gathered from my travels and experiences, serve as a personal imprint that enriches the depth and narrative of each piece. The intricate textures captured in these photographs and the vibrant expressions found in the graffiti not only add layers of complexity but also reflect my artistic journey and the diverse cultural influences that have shaped my work. Through this integration, I aim to create a fusion of my own identity with the raw, authentic essence of the places I have encountered, resulting in a rich tapestry of visual storytelling that resonates with viewers on a profound level.

On another note I participated in two public projects. The first was a collaboration between a collective called Accelerate Art and a WEB3 digital wallet platform called FLOOR. I submitted the following image called 'The Sisters' and over 9000 collectors picked it up in 48 hours. CRAZY!!!!!

The second piece is for a project called the Women Artists Book created by the Museum of Contemporary Women's Art. This is a digital book that is just starting and will probably continue for years. I am grateful to have my page included, an early piece prior to using AI. Each of the pages is minted as an individual NFT - I am excited to collect the others artists' pages.

One last tidbit is that I have been minting my work on a new platform called RODEO. It is another opportunity to share my work with other artists.

Hope you are having a GREAT SUMMER!!!
