So much fun exploring Japan with some of my family; Ron, Bev, Evan and Maddy! This was a jam packed schedule that I could barely keep up with, and the first trip that I did not plan. They did a great job on the itinerary and we saw so much in a short time. This trip to Japan was jam-packed with activities. We visited shrines, gardens, markets, department stores, restaurants, and even had time for a lot of shopping and art appreciation.
I created a travel guide of some of our favorites along the way (should only be viewed online - not sized for printing.)

Where will we go next?? It was such a great time.
BEST BITES
There is no way I can remember the name of every dish in every meal that we ate, but I do think we covered the gamut of Japanese cuisine. Not included in these pictures were the bites of street foods we experienced at the markets. I am always impressed by the quality of ingredients used in Japan, especially the fish. We experienced a wide range of meals from street food, to a 3 star Michelin and everything in between.
STAMPING
Maddy and I were on the 'stamp rally' to fill up our notebooks. The stamping tradition goes back many years; starting in temples to track donations and has turned into a national craze. At one shrine we waited over 20 minutes to get stamped (it was hand-done and worth the wait) and they used a number system to keep track of all the notebooks.
I brought my notebook from 2014 and it brought back some memories of being in Japan with my mom.

RANDOM CUTENESS PICTURE
HANDS
Loved watching the knife work.
VIEWS
My hotel rooms were on pretty high floors, so I was able to see what the Tokyo city landscape really looks like.
ART
I got very lucky to see some amazing art in a handful of different settings. I only scratched the surface of the many museums in Tokyo.
TeamLab Borderless is a MUST SEE visit while in Tokyo. https://www.teamlab.art/e/tokyo/
SHRINES, TEMPLES, PRAYERS and FORTUNES
That is a wrap - Japan, completely fascinating, so much to see, do and eat. Can't wait to visit again.
